Barnhouse Napa Brews is a cozy little spot in the heart of Napa, California, making waves in the local coffee scene. The coffee house is the brainchild of two longtime friends and former Fox News journalists, Eric Barnes and Adam Housley. The duo met 20 years ago and have traveled the globe, covering major world events in Thailand, Japan, Haiti, Korea, Venezuela, Mexico, and across America. They’ve spent considerable time in the Middle East and Europe, and they’ve always bonded over their love of travel.
Passion for Coffee
One thing that Eric and Adam have in common is their love of coffee. They’ve enjoyed countless cups of coffee in many countries throughout their years of reporting. Eric even had the opportunity to cruise with Lindblad/National Geographic Expedition around the Galapagos Islands, Alaska, and Central America, where he no doubt sampled some of the world’s best coffee.
On the other hand, Adam returned home to Napa to start a wine-tasting room, run a winery, and coach baseball and soccer. It was at a friend’s wedding that the idea of Barnhouse Napa Brews was born. Eric and Adam felt Downtown Napa needed a cozy beer and wine coffee spot.
And thus, Barnhouse was born. Since opening its doors, the coffee house has become a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike. One thing that sets Barnhouse apart from other coffee shops is the sense of community fostered there. Eric and Adam have worked hard to create a space where locals and visitors can relax, chat, and enjoy each other’s company. The Napa coffee house hosts regular events, including live music, sip n’ paint, and game nights, which have helped to build a loyal following.
Serving Much More than Coffee
Their unique menu offers specialty coffee drinks, beer, and wine, and they’re the only place in Napa that offers mead-tasting flights. And if you’re feeling peckish, they also offer a selection of baked goods and light bites, several of which are inspired by their visits to England. They’re one of the only places I know in Napa where you can order such British treats as sausage rolls or cheese & onion pies. They also have ‘real’ British tea – PG Tips!
But what sets Barnhouse apart is the atmosphere. The coffee house has a warm, inviting feel, with cozy seating areas and friendly staff. It’s the perfect spot to catch up with friends over coffee or tea or sit and work on your laptop for a few hours. You can also bring your well-behaved, leashed pooch to Barnhouse, where you will likely meet owner Eric’s dog, Leaf.
Barnhouse is an excellent addition to Napa Valley’s impressive food and drink scene. With Eric and Adam’s years of experience in reporting and travel, it’s no surprise that they’ve created a coffee house that’s both cozy and worldly. Whether you’re a coffee lover or a wine aficionado, Barnhouse is worth a visit.
